The football cup final was hotly contested. Aston Villa on the whole had the bettor of the first half and did most of the attacking. Huddersfield during the second half improved and rallied with great vigour, but Aston Villa remained the more united team. The defence of both sides was extremely sound The second half concluded without a score, and extra time was played. Aston Villa forwards soon headed through and from a corner kick scored a goal. They thwarted Huddersfield’s eiforts to equalise. Prince Henry presented the cup to the winners.
