(Imperial News Service). A POLICEMAN SHOT. (Received This Day at 8 a.m.) DUBL IN, April 22. A policeman on leave was shot near Clonakitty. He is not expected to recover. HOME RULE BILL. (Received this day at 8.40 a.m.) LONDON, April 23. The “Daily Chronicle” states Cabinet intends to make important concessions in regard to' the Home Rule Bill, and will consent to Ireland’s annual contribution of eighteen millions to the Imperial services being expended within Ireland. The Irish Parliament will be given immediate control of excise and some arrangement will bo made by which it will eventually control the Customs. A NON-IRRITATION POLICY. (Received this day at 8.40 a.m.) LONDON, April 23. The “Daily Chronicle” confirms the reported decision to adopt a non-* irritation policy m Ireland. The paper adds that Taylor, Assistant Under-Sec-retary, who has borne the blame for Dublin Castlo policy in the eyes of its detractors has been given a month’s holiday and will not return. He may get a Colonial Governorship.

The “Daily Express” Parliamentary correspondent states the changed sympathetic policy towards Ireland will be immediately apparent, as the causes of irritation will be removed, notably raids on private houses, which will ceaise except on suspicion of being connected witlr murder.
