GREYAIOUTH, This Day. At a largely attended and representative special general meeting of the Association held last evening the following resolutions were carried unanimously:— f. “That this special general erecting of hte AVest Coast branch of the Post and Telegraph Officers’ Association records its emphatic protest against the delay in announcing the result of the inquiry held by the Chief Justice, Sir Robert Stout, in December last re the war bonus promised by Sir Joseph AYard in 1918, and urges the Association’s Executive to demand as the right of the service an immediate announcement by tho Prime Minister. “That this meeting views v.-illi the gravest concern the decision of the Government to meet the pressing economic burden by a bonus a the rate fer married permanent officers £lo per annum (Hid per day), single £t 10s. (old). Temporary officers married Is, single 6cl per day, and strongly urges the Association’s Executive to dcmanc as the imperative need of the service a substantial increase in the salary scale.
