THE LONDONDERRY RIOTERS
LONDON, April 20. The “Evening News” Londonderry correspndent reports with a view to preventing a recurrence of the riots, the police adopted the novel plan that they withdraw at nightfall from the danger points and permitted two priests to patrol the streets armed with umbrellas, and they cleared the streets before nightfall.
REMOVING PRISONERS
(Received this day at 8.40 a.m.) LONDON, April 20
Twenty-six Sinn Feiners, including two Commoners, in Londonderry gaol were removed to Wormwood Scrubbs prison in England under a strong military escort. ANOTHER MURDER. (Received this day, at 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, April 20. Detective Dalton was fatally shot at midday in a Dublin street. The case resembled Kells, cabled on the 4th. Nobody apparently witnessed tho murder. It is believed six persons are concerned. Four persons were seen hastening from the scene . Dalton died in the hospital after the Sacrament had been administered in’the street.
