The South coach that left Ross on Saturday only reached the Forks from Hari Hari jast night. The returned journey commenced this morning and the coach should reach Ross on Friday afternoon.
The Paeroa sails for Bruce Bay and Okuru at 9 o’clock this evening with general cargo, and several passengei s. One or two Okuru residents are reported to he returning hv the boat seeking medical' attention.
“Men’s Wear” remarks (says a London correspondent): “A report from New Zealand states that English manufacturers are losing ground there owing to high prices and dilatory shipments. A gas explosion, which partially wrecked a. room and blew a window outwards with considerable force, occurred at Addington on Monday evening. Mr Patrick Campbell, an employee of the Gas Company, was making some adjustment to a, gas fitting at Ms residence, Collins street, when an explosion occurred without warning. Campbell was burned about the face and hands, and two small children named Toonsh, who were visiting the Campbells, were also slightly injured. Good cooks waste nothing.
