POLLARDS PICTURES.
“THE HAYSEEDS,” TO-NIGHT.
“The Hayseeds,” an Australian production picturing the first of Steel Rudd's famous Australian stories of “Tile Hayseeds,” will be the star attraction by Pollards in the Princess Theatre to-night. Wo have had proof in “The Lure of the Bush,” “The Man From Kangaroo,” and others that the Australian productions are equal to the best of the American. “The Hayseeds” as o picture, is a splendid movie comedy faithfully pourtraying life as it is lived in the backblocks of Australia. It is full of quaint humour, sensational scenes, and the characters give excellent impersonations of the sayings and doings of Mum and Dad. The part of Dad Hayseed is taken by the fine Australian actor, lloy Redgrave.
MCLEAN'S PICTURES. “FOR. FREEDOM,” FRIDAY. 'The percentage of women who lose a lover when they gain a husband is appallingly large. .Wives, as a ride, are unwilling to admit the tragic fact, and most of the victims do their pitiful best to persuade themselves of the falsity of the proposition. In some eases of this sort failure to understand woman’s nature is responsible. In other eases responsibility lies in the husband’s belief that demonstrative - afFection is a necessary adjunct of courtship, but not of matrimony. Myriads of homes might have been saved from disruption by just a. little token of thoughtfulness each 1 day. Myriads of wives might have been rescued from destruction by a clearer comprehension of the cravings which are as life itself to a woman. This is the theme which lies n’t the very root of the thrilling story which is told in the new William Farnum de luxe production, “For Freedom” in which the noted William Fox star is to appear at the Princess . Theatre on Friday. Also the Sunshine Comedy “Virtuous Husbands,” absolutely on its own. one scream from start to finish. Ladies see your husbands as they are. Never will you keep them in at nights. Husbands see yourselves as you should be. A splendid Gazette will conclude a really fine programme.
