AIR FLYING.
AVIATION IN CHINA
The German journal, “Hiustrierte Flug-Welt”, commenting on the contracts which the firm of Vickers, Ltd., lias made in China, remarks that in this England maintains the leadership in aircraft whiclih she had secured during the war. The opening up of airways in a country badly equipped with' means of transit and yet ready for unlimited trading will, they point out, make China, one of the most important factors in the world’s trade, and that Rower which gets a. first footing there may have practically a monopoly.
FLIGHTS TO BATTLEFIELDS,
A daily service of tours by aeronlane over the Flanders battlefields, beginning ing in the spring, is being arranged by Messrs T. Cook and 'Son, in conjunction tvlitli Aircraft Travel and Transport Ltd. The flights will start from Le Gourget aerodrome, just outside Paris, and will b© in two series. One will cover the sector of the British advance in 1918, allowing a view’ of the Homme, with a descent at St. Quentin, returning, via Cambrai and Lille, to Paris over Arras and Albert. The other flight will be by way of Chateau Thierry to Rheirns, returning across the Cliomin dcs Dames, with a descent at Soislsons. Machines carrying four or six passengers will be used, and the excursions will take about half a day. The Messageries Aeriennes, of Paris are arranging a service of daily passenger flights from Le Bonrget to Verdun and back.
