ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. (By Telegraph.—Special to Cuardian.) A QUIET MARKET. CHRISTCHURCH, This Day Messrs Matson and Co. report as follows regarding their stock sale yesterday : Beef, —There was a smaller entry and competition was restricted, but prices were firmed for nli good sorts. Plain and unfinished generally were weaker. .Best bullocks sold to £26 10s; good £lB to £23; lighter £l3 to £l7. Very few heifers were offering; best to £l6, good £ll 10s to £l4 10s; others £8 10s to £ll 14s. Store cattle.—A veiy small yarding and no quotable lines were offering. The general tono of the market was about the same. Mutton.—There was a fair yarding, hut owing, to freezing space becoming scarcer and counter attractions in the way of trots, the market was decidedly .easier, especially for light and unfinished stuff. Best wethers to 49s 6d, prime 35s to 35s 6d; others 27s to 345. A large number of ewes were penned including some very indifferent sorts. Best to 40s, good 31s 6d to 375, medium 25s Od to 30s Od, others 16s to 24s 6d. Lambs were easier. Store sheep.—A smaller yarding than last week but owing to the continuous dry weather prices were easier all round. Only good local fresh conditioned stuff showed any animation. Best 2 and 4 tooth ewes to 31s 6d; S.M ewes to 27s 6d, but most travelled and

uniform sorts sorts from 17s to 235; best lambs about 20s, others 14s 6d to 18s, smaller 10s 6d to 13s; best wethers to 31s, others 23s to 26s 6d; inferior 17s to 225.
