N.S.W. POLITICS
! AUSTRALIAN A W.B nHSPOI ATION] SYRNEY This Day. Though the new Assembly is described as being composed of 45 Labour and 45 anti-Labour, the former includes three Independent Labourites, and the latter, twelve Progressives. The position is interesting, and there is much speculation regarding tlie result of to-day’s Party meeting. It is understood Mr Holman is determined to recommend that Mr Storey he sent for to form a Ministry, while some of Mr Holman’s colleagues favor meeting Parliament and throwing upon new members the responsibility for changing the Government. The question is, which party will supply the Speaker thereby placing itseli in a minority and whouier some of the Progressives ate detachable from the Government, or whether any Independent Labour member will ho prepared to support the Government, causing some engi. ncering. The indications are that the Labourites anticipate securing support, and are preparing to take office.,lt" ia reported Mr Holman does not seek election, but retires from politics, at least for a time.
