A NEW APPOINTMENT. LONDON, Jan. 28. Mr H. M. Wright (Eltliam), who served with the Ist Welington Infantry from October, 1915, to August, 1919, took his discharge in England from the N.Z.E.F. in order to re-eulist with the orchestra and band of the Royal Artillery, stationed at Woolwich. He remained a member of this band for three months, playing the saxophone and viola, when, owing to a nervous breakdown, he was invalided out of flic Army after a somewhat strenuous musical season at London concerts. Since regaining his health, Mr Wright has been taking a special course of study with Dr Fowles, 31 us. Doc. Last July he went in for the examination of Associate of the College of Violinists, and passed with honours, and he is now about to sit for the Licentiate examination of the same College. He is returning to New Zealand by the Tainui about the middle of February. When the Kiwi Concert Party was formed during the war, 3lr Wright played the violin and viola. On arrival in New Zealand lie will make his headquarters at Wellington, as he has been appointed by the Committee of Management of the London College of Music to bo their organising secretary for New-Zealand in connexion with the local examinations. Anyone in New Zealand who is willing to institute a local centre for the London College of Music examinations in any town in either the North or South Island, should communicate with Mr Wright, at the Arcadia Hotel in Wellington. An interesting point is that for cob onial students of music who may he visiting England, and who first communicate with him, arrangements can be made to take a special course at the London College, Great Marlborough street
