ivOKATAiiI AUTUMN STOCK SALT
M. Houston and Co. report as follows :—Wo held our Autumn Sale of Stock at Kokatahi Yards yesterday, there being a good attendance of buyers from all parts of the district, with the result that competition was keen right throughout t|lio sale and the large yarding was all cleared at very satisfactory prices. Grown cattle sold well, whilst calves and yearlings which at previous salves were almost neglected met with a ready demand. Sheep and lambs sold well.
The following were the sales: 14 woolly 'Lambs at .29/9, 30 fat sheep at 3*4/- for J. G. Meharry; 23 at 22/-, 5 Ewes at 22/-, 1 Ram at £2/10/-, for V. W- M. Bonar; 50 store Lambs at 20/- for T. Ecclesfield; 1 heifer at £4, 1 at £3/10/- for D. Cullen; 9 small wcaners at 22/- for J. Shannon; 8 2Jyr. steers at £9/8/- for R. Preston; 11 2}yr steers at £9/8/- for A. Michel; 6 weaner calves at 34/- for A. Fleming; 11 9Jfyr. steers at £9/11/-, 9 at £9/7/6, 1 stag at £3/12/6 for IT. E. Winter; 16 wcaner calves at £2 for A. Jamieson; 12 wcaner calves at 36/- for M. Baird; 10 18 mos. heifers at £4/4/- for J). Mulholland; 16 2|yr. steers at £9/5/-, 2 cows at £7/10/-, for T. Stopforth; 11 18 mos. mixed cattle at £4/2/6 for H. Growcott; 18 wcaner calves at 39/- for G. McCloud; 9 18-mos. steers at £6/5/-, 9 18-mos. heifers at £O/5/-, 3 vealers at £3/1/-, 2 aged cows at £4/4/-, 2 fat cows at £9/7/6, for Spence Bros; 1 fat cow at £B/2/6, 1 stag at £B/11/6 for J. W. McCormack; 3rjfat cows at £lO/5/- for J. Woolhouso; 2 fat cows at £7 for A. Wall; 1 aged Cow at £4, 1 Stag nt £7, for T. P. McConnon; (privately) 30 fat Lambs at 24/-, 30 fat Ewes at 27/- for R. iH. Morel.
