LUDENDOEFF’S DEFENCE. (Received This Day, at 9 25 a.m.) PARIS, March 30. Prince Ludendorff is in Berlin. He has written to the newspapers defending his action in connection with the coup detat. ALLIED INTENTIONS. (Received this day at 10.20 ■ LONDON, • March 30. The Australian Press learns that the Allied Governments continue to view the situation in Ruhr district with grave anxiety. It is understood Germany, in order to quell the insurrection in Ruhr, requested tho Allies to permit the desptach of. one hundred thousand troops, instead of forty thousand which the agreement last August allowed. France fears this is a menace to her safety, ut Britain and the other Allies recognising the importance of restoration of order favoured acceding to a certain request. Ultimately in response to French presentations, the Allies agreed to permit additional German troops to enter the neutral zone provided an equivalent Allied force occupied the various points.
