Coyle 3s Sd per cub. yard) was received for gravelling contract Kokatnhi road, but being considered too high was declined and “it the advice of the Overseer it was resolved tp perform flic work by day labor, 3. An application for remission of rates in view of heavy expenditure °u works was declined,

4. Applications for road approaches to sawpitiling ventures at Kokatnhi and Hail Hall were deferred for reports which will be placed before the Council at this meeting. 5. On the wages question it was resolved to increase the day laborers wages to 13/- per day, and carters to 23/- per day to date Iron.) the Ist of next month. 6. It was further resolved in view of the special duties carried out by Roadman Nolan to increase his wages to £l7 10s. per month . 7. It was resolved to recommend the Council to allocate £IOO per annum towards a superannuation scheme on behalf of the Council’s employees. 8. Tt was decided to hold the statutory meeting of the Council on the 30th inst to consider the question of readjusting representation. 9. It was resolved to co-operate w'tli the Hokitika Borough Council in regard to the Royal visit, and hear a portion of the expense. 10. It was resolved subject to other local bodies likewise contributing, to allocate £SO towards the clearing of Mahinapua- Creek. 11. Tho accounts presented for the month of March 1920, have been carefully examined, and your Committee begs to recommend that, same amounting to £IO9O 6s Id, bo passed for payment,
