WESTPORT RACES. (Per Press Association.) WESTPORT, March 26. The Westport Jockey Club’s Annual Meeting opened to-day, and there was glorious weather. There was a good attendance. The visitors were loud in their praises of the enterprise of tlio Club in erecting the large new gand-

stand in concrete and brick on their new ground. The tote handled £5169, as against last year’s £4,245. Results: TRIAL HACK (6 furlongs and SO yards.—(2) Hokitika 8.10, 1,- (1) Paliaka 8.10, 2, (4) Alisamon 8.5 3. Also started: (3) Winning Number, (1) Diamond Spray, (6) Miss Mnharanui. Won by a length.
