Hori J. Grimmond arrived in Auckland to-day. He is due to arrive at Hokitika on Tuesday next. It is understood that- owing to the acute shortage of paper the publishers of the “Ladies’ Home Journal,” and of the “Saturday Evening Post” (New York) will not in fpture print copies for sale in New Zealand and Australia. Messrs M. Houston and Co. will sell by auction at the Federal supper rooms on Tuesday next at 2.30. p.m. the whole of tlie contents including tables, chairs crockery etc. Particulars appear

Extra heavy haveners, £f Ills to £10; heavy baeoners. £7 10s tt £8 10s; ordinary baeoners, £6 to £7: average price lid per pound. Heavy porkers £5 os to £5 los; ordinary porkers £4 10s to £5; average price per lb Is Id. Choppers £6 to £9. A small entry of store pigs included nothing of any size. A slack sale was experienced. A lot of weaners were offered, but'they met with little demand. Medium stores £3 to £3 los; small stores £1 9s to £1 12s : weaners 16s to 2os. •
