ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET.

A LARGE YARDING

(By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.

Messrs Matson and Co. report as follows regarding their stock sale yesterday :

Fat Catle.—There was a large yarding, iind only one freezing buyer was operating owing to the shortage of space. Extra steers sold to £27 10s, prime £2O to £22 10s; ordinary £l6 to £18; cows and heifers £l2 to £l4 and up to £l7 10s for extra.

Store Cattle.—There was a tremendous yarding of all classes, every available pen being occupied. The demand was fair at lower prices than last week, four year-old steers in forward condition made £ll 17s 6d to £l3 17s 6d; 3-year old steers £9 10s to £lO 12s 6d; 2-year old steers £6 10s to £B. Of dry cows there was a large yarding. Prices £6 to £9. Bulls £lO to £2O.

Fat sheep.—Another large yarding and the market was firm at last week’s rates. Some exceptionally fine sheep were yarded, best wethers making to 60s; prime 37s 6d to 49s Od; medium 32s to 365; lighter and inferior 29s to 31s 6d; best ewes to 50s; prime 34s to 42s 6d ;others were very firm. Store sheep.—Another very heavy yarding comprising mostly Southland and travelled sheep, also a fair number of West Coast sheep were offering. All good ewes and good conditioned sheep were firmer, but other sorts were a shade easier. Best 2 and 4 tooth ewes sold to 34s 6d; S.M. ewes 26s to 29s Gd, a few extra to 32s 6d; others 14s bd to 20s 6d. Best wethers to 33s 9d, good forward sorts 26s to 28s. Not many lambs were' offering, hut they sold well up to 24s 6d, others 17s to 21s.
