RAILWAY SMASH.

AUCKLAND, This Day. During shunting at Auckland railway station at one o’clock this morning, a goods van collided with two stationary trains though running on the wrong line. A concrete stop block of about forty tons weight was carried about eight feet, and deposited on the station platform. A van mounted the block and crashed through the verandah causing a big gap and tearing the iron asunder. Stationary vans were partially telescoped and the bogie wheels torn off one of them, and the stceriiw gear wrecked. The accident is presumably due to a mistake in tbe signals on the setting points.
