A serious affair has occurred in Dublin. A crowd followed troops leaving a theatre in the city and a collision took place near Portobello Barracks, where the troops fired killing a man and a woman and wounding several. A large force of troops occupied Portobello bridge to prevent the crowd passing over. They fired several volleys, after which consternation and panic reigned.
