It is understood that the British Goveminent has put on sale in New York a large quantity of Australian and New Zealand lamb and mutton. The prices arc respectively, 16:] and 12. V cents per pound wholesale, current prices being 30 and 24 cents.

It is indicated that this is being done in order to relieve the congestion of meat stores in Britain, where some vesv sols, carrying Australian meats are unable to unload for three weeks.
