In face of the large number of country sales and ewe fairs all over Canterbury' during the next fortnight, we do not anticipate any improvement in the market. Fat Cattle.—A medium yarding of prices, equal to last week, except for cows, which were easier, owing to one export buyer having no space. Prime steers were selling at last week’s rates. Extra steers £25 to £2B 2s 6d; prime £22 to £25; latter £ls to £18; cows and heifers £ll to £l2; unfinished £9 to £11; extra good to £l6 15s. Store cattle.—A medium yarding, mostly forward cows and bulls, with no quotable lines of steers. One pen of Hereford calves made £4 16s Od; dry cows sold at £6 10s to £9 2s 6d; bulls £lO to £ls 10s.
