THE ‘.ESTMONIAN- ADMIRAL The admiral commanding what is claimed to be the smallest navy in ho world the newly constituted Esthonian Fleet—is now in London on sick leave. Admiral Pitka is a very combative-look-ing old sea dog, with a head like the redoubtable Hiiidenburg and a smart Van Dyke heard and curled moustache. He is a thorough-going seaman, and before the. war lived in Liverpool. His fleet comprises 10 vessels all told—lour converted steamers and three gun-boats hut I it has seen some fighting in tlie Baltic, and received the thanks of the British \dmiralty for co-operation against Die Bolsheviks. The Admiral, a quiet, ntoi dost- sailor with no nonsense about him, I has never lulled to go into action when 1 his fleet was engaged, and he has rendered great service with the armoured trains."' But six years ago, whop lm was a humble surburbap dw«Jl«r. in Liverpool ' the gallant seaman certainly never had any visions of hoisting his flag on the flair-ship of a brand-new European navy ° -■?!?
