3 YEARS’ WANDERINGS
NEW YORK, Jan. 12 A man in rays and suffering from loss of memory was discovered at Lambcrtville, Maryland, on Friday and lodged in the town gaol. He was identified there last night as Dr John L. Brand, (54. who disappeared from his home at Gloucester, Massachu setts, in March 1917. Mr Brand is a native of England. His son, Lieut-Cominander Charles Brand, reading in ‘the Philadelphia, newspapers a description of the doctor, hurried to hambertville, and, approaching him. saick “Father, don’t you recognise me?’ The man gawd at him with wideopen eyes, placed his hands on his son’s shoulders; then, realising his inability to remember, gave a deep sob | and sank to the ground. He was car- j ried to bed. An inveterate reader, a doctor of music and of medicine, Mr Brand had on several occasions suffered from minor attacks of amnesia from which he recovered. Some time before bis disappearance he had been devoting himself entirely to research work. Physicians say that with proper treatment it should he possible to restore his memory. j
