Opaki 'No 1 came second taking £4. Permanent Staff, (Canterbury), was third tak- ' ing £2 and Nelson Regiment fourth ' taking £2.
A popular win was that of Hamilton High School cadet, team in the machine gun rescue match, in which a rifleman had to dispose of eight figure targets representing men working a machine gun 200yds away. This they accomplished in 24sees. taking £7, and the Dawson Shield. P. and T. Engineers were 2nd in 27secs, taking £4. Permanent Staff (Canterbury), were -third in 28secs, tnk- , ing £2. Dunedin Rifle Club was fourth iin 28secs, taking £2. Wellington Subi urbs and Aka tea divided the other £2, ! their time being 29secs. ! TRENT HAM, This Day. Tile morning was fine with a light, variable breeze. The service championship, filial stage, is in progress at 200 000 and 600 yards. The result whereof is to lie added to the scores in the earlier service series. The winner was O. M. Moss, (Dunedin), with an aggro. 1 gate of 223. The running man competition, also finished, was won by Wal.
