WESTLAND AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION

The usual monthly meeting of tile Westland branch of the Automobile Association was held on Saturday, Feb. 21st, at 8 p.m. There was a good attendance of members, Air Davidson occupying the chair. It was resolved at the meeting to communicate with the Canterbury Automobile Association with a view of getting that powerful body to move in the direction of asking the Government to htfc the restrictions so as to enable benzine to be manufactured in this country, as it was considered necessary owing to the scarcity and high price of motor

spirit. It was also decided to write the resident engineer, Greymoutli, drawing ins attention to several bad corners of tlie road between Greymoutli and Hokitika, owing to the high growth of scrub obstructing the view, making it dangerous for motor and other traffic. After several other matters of importance were discussed the meeting terminated at 10.15 p.m.
