THE PLOT THAT WAS BUNGLED. ' (Rpceivpd this day at 11.25 a.m.) LONDON, Februaiy 23. Sinn Feinners bungled an attempt to blow up the constabulary barracks at Ballynahinchin, County Down. The gelignite was inserted in holes drilled in the walls, but failed to explode, The town was previously Isolated, the telegraphs being cut and the roads blocked with felled trees.

Retorting against the military order forbidding persons to be abroad in Dublin without a pass after midnight, the Dublin Council has ordered the extinguishment of the street lighting after 11.30 and has forbidden the performance of pnv municipal services thereafter as being dangerous in the absence of lighting. The Council also refused to allow municipal employees apply for military permits to be abroad; also if permits are obtained regardless of the Council’s injunction, the Council will refuse to pay wages for the work done during the lightless hours.
