N.Z. TROTTING ASSOCIATION

The Greymouth Trotting Club reported at its Summer Meeting, M. Jarden, F. G. Lynch, F. W. Gilbert, and J. W. Thomas had been fined £5 each for starting before their time, and B. White 5 for interference. The club’s action was endorsed.

The Greymouth Trotting Club also reported that at the Meeting B. Jarden had used offensive language to the handicapper, subsequently expressed regret, and no further action had been taken. The club’s action was endorsed, but it was decided to write a letter of caution to Jarden.

The president drew attention to tne approaching visit of H.R.H. the Prince of Wales, and said that anything that the trotting authorities could do in the way of assisting in his welcome would be done. He noticed that Mr W. J. Hopkins had offered to give up the Kaikoura Trotting Club’s permit if there was any difficulty in that direction, hut the club would not agree to tlie proposal.

Mr Short said that the Wellington Trotting Club had made a proposal to hold a special Meeting in Wellington, and that was now being considered by the Government.

Mr Kitohingham suggested that a Meeting could be held in Christchurch by an alteration in the dates of Meetings already arranged.
