ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. CATTLtEi SALES. (By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCH (JRCH, This Day. ' Messrs Matson and Co. report as follows regarding their stock sale yesterday : Of fat cattle there wasi a large yarding with many lines of good quality. The demand was a sliade easierall round, especially for extra prime steers. ’The freezers took a large pro. portion of the cow beef. Extra steers went to £2B/2/-; prime £2O/4/- to £25; unfinished £l4 to £18; cows and heifers £l2 to £ls, and up to £22 for extra. Store cattle-—There was a large yarding, but practically no decent lines of young cattle, except one pen of 2 vr. old Holstein steers, which sold at £7/5/-. The bulk of the entry was dry cows and bulls, which met with keen competition from exporters at fully up to late rates. Bulls made £lO to £2O cows to £5 to £B/5/-, and up to £ll for very forward. Store sheep—a large yarding of all classes of sheep. Prices a shade easier than last week. Best rape lambs from '22/- to 24/-; best wethers up to 32/-; ten others from 24/- to 27/-; best twotooth ewes from 30/- to 32/-; sound mouth ewes, 20/- to 26/-; medium lambs from 17/- to 21/6; smaller sorts 13/- to 15/-. Fat sheep—a very heavy yarding, comprising a mixed quality. The mar. ket opened fir in but as the butchers requirements became satisfied, the market eased accordingly, and was 2/- below last week’s prices—at the end of the sale. Best wethers, 40/- to 43/-; prime 34/- to 39/6; ewes to 42/-; prime 30/- to 31/-; lighter and inferior 24/to 29/-.
There was a largo yarding of lambs and prices were very firm.
