GIRL ARTIST IN HAIR.

LONDON, Dec 11

Miss Irene Coney, aged 15, sent the trade hairdressing experts into raptures yesterday at an exhibition of the work of the students of the L.C.C. Trade School for Girls in Barrett-Street Oxford-street, AV. They were so pleased with the coiffure created by this student that a sketch was made of it, and in all probability it will be the rage very shortly. The coiffure was for wear with evening dress ,and Miss Coney described it as:

“A neglige bunch of curls with a well-shaped horseshoe front drawn down by a band on the forehead.”

It was most effective, the whole coiffure giving the effect of a heap of attractive curls mounting to a pyramid. “I got the design from a 16th-century plate,” added Miss Coney. Another design which pleased the trade critics was the creation of Miss Lilian Cook, also aged 15, described as fancy waves and puffs with a waved front. Both take about an hour to dress, but in tlio opinion of the experts they are well worth it. Among other exhibits shown at the school were evening dress gowns designed and made by the pupils. Here again originality was shown. Miss Gwendoline Brown, aged 15, exhibited a blue chemise frock of crepe de chine trimmed with Turkish embroidery which is to be worn at a social function by a woman noted for her taste in dress.
