WEDDING BELLS.
DOWNIE—BUNNY,
A wedding which created much interest took place at St -Patrick s Church, -Ws ter ton, on the 11th inst., when Eileen, second daughter of Mrs Runny, and the late Mr A. 11. Bunin, of Masterton, was married to Mr Esmond J. Downie, of Wellington formerly of Hokitika. The. Rev Father Phelan officiated. The bride, who was given away by fier uncle, Mr Edmund Bunny of Louoi Flutt, was-charmingly attired in white crepe de chine, and a white hat, with feathered trimming. She carried a pretty bouquet of cactus dahlias and maidenhair fern, and wore a beautiful necklet of pearls and aquamarines, the gift of the bridegroom. She was attended by three bridesmaids, the Misses Kathleen Bunny (chief), McRae, and Norah Bunny, who wore dainty gowns of heliotrope voile, and large hats, with shell pink tulle streamers, and carried, beautiful bouquets of pink roses and sweet peas. Mr J. Downie, brother of the bridegroom, acted as best man, and Mr George Cooper (Wellington) and Mr Cornwall (Wellington) were groomsmen. After the ceremony, the Wedding March was played by tne bride's mother. The bride’s present to the bridegroom was a handsome engraved signet ring, and pearl necklaces to the bridesmaids. Later Mrs Bunny held a reception at the Municipal Hall, which was gay with decorations of heliotrope and pmk for the occasion. After the usual toasts were honoured the happy couple left for the north, the bride wearing a purple gabardine costume with hat to match. Mr and Mrs Esmond Downie will take up their future residence in Wellington. A large number of handsome and useful presents were received, including several valuable cheques. The bride’s mother wore a hand some brocaded satin gown, with a black crepe de chine feathered bat. She also carried a beautiful mauve bouquet. Mrs Downie, mother of the bridegroom, was attired in a black crepe de chine coat and skirt, with hat to match. Among the many guests present were Airs Harry Bunny (black crepe de chine coat and skirt, with hat to match), Mrs j.' Tatliam (in blue and white voile), Airs W. Wardell (who wore a smart grev coat and skirt, with a large bhie hat), Airs Ormond Cooper, of Bellington (in black silk and georgette over bold tissue, and a large black feathered hat) Mrs Oliver Bunny (m amethys coat and skirt, and hat of the same shade). Mrs Bert Bunny was ,n with a pretty hat to match. -Mrs W. Bunny looked well in a smart grey check costume, and a large white lm . Miss Moore (cream frock), Miss Kate Bunny (blue voile), Miss Bunny, Lower Hutt (black and wlutc mnon, with a white hat), Miss Fitzgerald, Wellington (rcsida green coat and skirt, and larn-e blue hat, with white wings), Mrs Eldon Moore, Wellington (black and wito ninon, with hat to match), -Miss N. Mcaßae (grey coat and skirt, and large white hat), Miss N. Cooper, Wellington (cream corline and georgette). Miss Q. Cooper, also of Welington, was in white voile.
