THE FAMOUS “DIGGERS".

OPERA HOUSE, WEDNESDAY AND

THURSDAY NEXT

An entertainment of high order is promised at the Opera House on Wednesday and Thursday next, when the

“Digger” Pierrots will give their unique entertainments, presenting n distinct programme each evening. The company consists of ten performers, in 'addition to which a select orchestra of ten members constitute a combination which lias rarely been equalled by this class of entertainment. Fun, frolic, musical sketches, monologues, and concerted numbers are included in the programmes presented by the “Diggers.” .The recent efforts of this company on behalf of the returned soldiers n ere rewarded by being able to hand ovei to the -Mayors in towns included, in the previous visit the magnificent sum of L 2500, a fact which speaks volumes for the interest and appreciation shown by the public. On this occasion patrons will have an opportunity of testing the‘versatility of the “Diggers,” and enjoy the gems of unique and rare items, sentimental and otherwise—principally the latter, as comedy largely predominates. The Chronicles of the N.Z.E.F., commenting on a performance of the Pierrots, states “When I saw them a few nights' ago they were staging a revue called ‘Eyes IRght.’ All revues are mostly- burlesques, and it is in this that the N.Z. Pierrots are at tlieir best. The performance goes with a business like lilt and swing from the first tap of the conductor’s baton to the grand finale, and there was not a dull sixty seconds in the'whole revue.” The box plan is at ■Mr A. 1-1. Lawn’s. The “Diggers”, should be assured of a bumper bouse.
