THE ISLANDS TRIP
EXPERTS TO MAKE REPORTS AATELLINGTON, Feb. 10.
Among those who will make the Island trip in the Mokoia will be Mr Charles AVilson ,tho Parliamentary Librarian, who has got together for the use of members of Parliament on the voyage practically all the available literature regarding the various groups of islands to be visited. There will be quite a. library on board, including State papers and Blue Books, which should prove of great value to members who wish to make themselves familiar with the history, government, products, and trade of the islands.
Colonel Tate the Administrator of Samoa ; Mr F. W. Platts, Resident Commissioner at Rarotonga; Mr A. Gibbs, electrical engineer to the Past and Telegraph Department; Mr P. Black, an ex port on tropic horticulture; Mr W. <L .Bird, who lias had large experience of native schools ;and Mr H. Vickermaß, of the Public Works Department, will be members of the party, and each of these officials will make reports in his own particular sphere. The Government pbotgrapber will take a series of moving pictures, and exhibit a series of New Zealand films .
Altogether, the voyage promises to prove a most interesting one, and should result in great advantage both to the people of the islands and of New Zealand. Mr J. Gray, Secretary to the Department of External Affairs is a member of the' party, which expects to get awa yon Saturday.
