To-niglit at the Princess Theatre the evo rpopular screen artist Norma Talmadge wll be seen in tiro latest success of the Select Pictures Coy., “Her Only Way. ’’ Norma Talmadge has the power to inspire sympathy in an audience and in “Her Only Way” she thoroughly gains it .from the commencement of the story, in the great court scene where she is tried for the murder of her faithless husband her acting reaches great heights of emotion and inspiring realism. The producton calls for lavish scenes which are staged in a most comprehensive manner and the picture has the great attraction, a novel plot with an unexpected climax. The 18th chapter of “The House of Hate,” will also be screened.
“THE SENTIMENTAL BLOKE” There comes to the Princess Theatre on Monday next quite a notable production in G. J. Dennis’ picturisation of his world famous work “The Sentimental Bloke” in eight acts, presented under the direction of E. J. Carroll. “The Sentimental Bloke” was written by, Mr Dennis with such honest sweetness and broad human appeal, such fidelity to all that is best in average life and experience that it promptly made a record, and was just as promptly pirated in America. The making of j the film entailed tremendous cost and infinite taking of trouble for the makers of the film wore determined at least to equal the best American standard of production. Tlio result is a filmed story of quite exceptional excellence. The poem is faithfully and comprehensively expressed, its situations and incidents being most graphically interpreted. There is a. fine show of reality in the picture and no lack of thrill. “Ihc Bloke” takes individuality and character as human and the dimpled Doreen thus realised in the flesh is delicious and a delightful “bit of goods.” It may be that such blokes and such Doreens are rare in actual experience, hut it- is claimed that whoever sees the picture will cordially agree that in that rarity there is matter for regret. Mr L. . Austin lias writen special appropriate music for the production. The box plan is now open at Mclntosh s.
