MOTOR IIOAD SCHEME, (Received this day, at R3O a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Among tlie schemes to commemorate tlie Prince of Wales visit it is proposed to repair and put in first class motoring order the roads between Sydney and Melbourne, to enable the visitor to motor between the capitals, over what is known as Prince’s road. The proposal is receiving considerable enthusiastic support on both sides of the border. MEAT SUPPLY. MELBOURNE, This Day. The Inter-state Conference of meat producing interests decided to oppose any renewal of the meat contracts with the British Government, except at a large increaso on present export prices. Subsequently Mr Hughes and the representatives' of the state Government and producing exporting interests, discussed the meat position, and empowered Mr Hughes to ascertain definitely when the present contract ends and if the British. Government intends to renew. On receipt of this information the Conference will re assemble and review the position.

An official report on the iron deposits found at Yampi on the northwest coast states there are immense quantities of Misaceous hematite of unusujilf purity equal to the host world’s ores, in close proximity to a deep sheltered harbour in which the largest ships can enter or leave at any time.
