POLLARD'S PICTURES.
MONDAY. A BEX BEACH FEATURE. On Monday next Pollard’s will present the Coldwyn production of Ilex Beach’s startling picture “ The Brand.” This picture marks another step towards the high water mark of perfection in production. Again has the great author selected for stars those artists who most nearly approximate the characters of the story, and again with pcifect success. Bay Lauroll the beautiful girl who plays the leading part is a Ziegfeld Follies girl, and makes her initial appearance before the camera with conspicuous success. The male stars'are Bussell Simpson, known for his work as the trader in “ The Barrier ” who in “The Brand ” creates a perfect character as the old prospector, and Robert McKim, who makes a perfectly detestable villain, and gains the execrations of the audience. The photography is worthy of special mention, as is the snow storm scene. The name is no mere psychological stigma; it is applied physically and stands for the hatred and contempt of one man for another, who, lie says, is not lit to kill. Years of anguish tie behind this action, born of the monotony and loneliness that come with the hush of the white wild. The story is virile and vivid to a degree and is one that j will be long remembered. I Coming Wednesday next, Norma Talmadge in “ Her Only Way.”
