AIR FLYING.

CAIRO TO CAPE FLIGHT. LONDON, February 5.
There is great secrecy in the preparations for the Cairo to Cape flight. It is now known that three aeroplanes have started, including Broome and CicherelL cabled on January 24th, who have reached Heliopolis. Colonel van Moyne veld and Lieutenant Brand aboard a Vickers machine identical with that of Ross Smith, left Brooklands yesterday. Lieutenants h. S. Cotton and W. A. Townsend, both Australians aboard D.H. 14, left Hendon yesterday and left Lympe this iriornamg. It- is understood that Major Brackley is almost ready to start aboard-a Handley Page. It- is reported from Paris that Poulet resumes his Australian flight m a new machine to-morrow.
