ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. A FIRMER MARKET. (By Talegraph.—Special to Guardian. CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs Matson and .Co. report as fol* lows regarding their stock sale yesterday Store sheep.—Owing to recent good min, the market was much brighter and showing a decided rise in best rape lambs of from 3s to 4s per head. Other sorts were about the same as last week, with a hardening tendency. Best rape lambs from 22s to 25s 3d; best wethers to 30s; backward wethers 16s fid to 235; ewes were the same as dost week.
Fat sheep.—A medium yarding and the quality was mixed. The market was firm at last week’s rates. Freezing buyers wore operating keenly. Best wethers sold to 435, prime 34s 6d to 39s 6d; medium 30s to 33s fid ; best ewes to 375, a few extra good making more. Prime 30s to 34s fid, lighter 26s 6d to 29s fid; inferior 21s to 25s fid. .Lambs were very firm.
Fat cattle.—A large yarding, a big proportion being cow and heifer beef. Freezing buyers were operating strongly at fully up to last week’s prices.. Extra heavy steers sold to £22, primo £25 to £26, unfinished £lO to £lB 10s, cows and heifers £ll to £l3 10s, and up to £l6 5s for heavy.
Store cattle.—A large yarding, mostly small lots of young cattle and dry cows. Exporters were buying all classes of cows at advanced pricos for forward condition and at late rates for ordinary quality. There were no quotable lines of young cattle sold. Cows £6 to £9 15s; fat bullocks wdro in keen demand at £8 to £lB.
