FIRE AT WALLSEND
a BIG BLAZE. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.-- COPVRIGBT.j GREYMOOTH, This Day. About four o’clock this morning, a destructive fire occurred at Wallsend. The places destroyed were: Brunner Borough Conned Chambers; Rost Office;
Roberts’ and r 'Leach’s store; Fred Williams’, butcher’s shop. These were entirely destroyed. The lhinies'had a good hold when discovered in Roberts’ and Lack’s store,-winch contained kerosene and other inflammable material. There was no water supply, and the Taylorville bridge being down, the residents on the other side were unable to fr e t across without some delay. “ \ few departmental papers were saved from the Council Chambers, but nothing was saved elsewhere. 1 There is no insurance held by Williams, and a small insurance on the other buildings. There are heavy losses.
