MILITARY SALUTES. ' SYDNEY, Jan. 14. 'Tlie following modification of the instructions in regard to saluting by soldiery serving in the Australian Military Forces has been approved:— (1) At all times when on parade or performing a military duty the customs and usages of the service will bo strictly adhered to and enforced. (2) In the street and off parade when a soldier has occasion to speak to an officer, or an officer to a soldier, the soldier will salute, and the officer return the salute as formerly, but otherwise saluting will not be obligatory.
