CONCERT AT ARAHURA
The Tairea Hall at Arahura was well filled last night tor the concert organised by Misses Henderson and Sanders to speed up the erection of the new u ing of Westland Hospital. The school pupils gave some very' successful items in character, the principal songsters being Ella Marshall, Mg vis llavill, George Taimii, Kopi Mcihana, Rose Tauwharc, Hector Meihana and Kina Meiliana ; tlie pokerer by Maori hoys being most melodious and attractive. Songs were contributed by visitors from Hokitika, Misses Perry, Stapleton, Jones, Messrs Shand and Berry, being all in good voice and en rappaufc with the audience. Mr Oropp (basso) and Mr Worsiey (pianist) from Christchurch, treated those present to lour songs that will be long remembered, the intimacy and precision of piano and voice in the “Drum Major” song being perfect. Tile night, or rather morning, closed with a dance that swung through with the enthusiasm always at home at Arahura socials..
