At Totara Flat saleyards on Saturday about 1000 sheep and 70 cattle were yarded. There was a fair attendance, but bidding at auction was restricted, only a. small proportion of the entry being sold under the hammer. Eventually almost the whole entry was disposed of. Mark Sprot and Co., sold 130 four and six-tooth wethers at 27s 6d, 230 2 and four tooth wethers (a well grown line) and 2.55, 127 two tooth ewes at 2;5s 3d; 50 two and four tooth wethers at 265; a line of 180 good wethers mostly four and six-tooth at 27s 9d; and privately 400 mixed sheep at market rates. Fat cows mado £l2, fat heifers £8 to £lO- Sundry lots of store jcattlo at ruling rates. One or two lines of inferior sheop yarded were passd in unsold..
