The Governor of Queensland, at the request of the Parliamentary Opposition has cabled to the British Secretary of State for the Colonies (Lord Milner), a protest against the appointment of the Hon Mr Lennon as Lieut.-Governor of Queensland. The protest is on political grounds and on account of views expressed by Hon Mr Lennon during the war period. The Governor has received an official reply. It states: “The appointment of Mr Lennon has received His Majesty the King’s approval, and it is not to be interfered with.”
