Treasury figures relating to revenue financial' year elided December 31st., wore made available by the Finance Minister to-day. The revenue for the month of December was £3j223,248 as against £3,005,682 for December of 1918 an increase of £217,566. There have been increases’ of approximately .'£150,000 in Customs, £113,000 • in stamp duties; £85,000 in postal revenue; £35,000 in income tax; and £150,000 in railway revenue.
There is a decrease of no less than £270,000, in land tax revenue. For the" nine months the revenue has been £14,365,595, as against £12,099, 774 for the corresponding nine months of the previous financial year, so .that increase in revenue is £2,226,582. The biggest increases have been:—Customs £719,305; stamp duties £873,861" and railways £521,517. There is a decrease in the beer duty of £114,884. i The total expenditude for the nine months was £16,830,739 as against £l3, 166,171 for the previous year, an increase of £3,644,568. Permanent charges show an increase of from £7,000,530, to' £8,405,885. This increase is stated to be made up by increases in interest and 1 sinking, of £872,423 and in expenditure under special Acts of £534,37-9. The Annual Appropriations wore £B, 424, 754, as against only £6,165,641.
GENERAL TOWNSEND RESIGNS. (Received this day at 8.40 a.m.) LONDON, January 13. General Townsend the defender of Kut, has written to the War Office tendering his resignation. It is understood to be a sequel to a long period of official neglect.
PRINCE’S VISIT. (Received this day at 8.40 a.m.) LONDON, January 13. Although the Prince’s itinerary is unsettled definitely, it is understood it is proposed to first visit New Zealand during May, and thence go to Australia. It is contemplated to send the Renown via Panama, provided the vessel can renew her oil fuel supplies in Fiji. COTTON WORKERS BONUSES. (Received this day at 8.40 a.m.) LONDON, January*, 13'. Cotton manufacturers in Lancashire are paying operatives bonuses aggregating two millions.
HONOR FOR LLOYD GEORGE. (Received this day at 8.40 a.in.) PARIS, January 13. Hon. Lloyd George has been awarded the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour. GALES WRECKS. (Received this day at 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, January 13. Gales arc general in British and French seas, and there are numerous wrecks of coastal vessels. Two enormous seas swept the deck of the Belgian mailboat bound from Dover to Ostend and many persons were injured. A roll call disclosed that two men and women were missing, drowned.

Lady Dudley denies the sale of Witley Court. VISCOUNT GREY. (Received this day at 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, January 13. Viscount Grey has arrived at Southampton from New York. A curious episode occurred during a speech which Earl Grey delivered on behalf of the Seamen’s Benevolent Fund. The passengers organised an impromptu courtmartial and forced Germans to attend and' sign abject apologies.
FOUND GUILTY. (Received this day, at 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, January 13. Harris, cabled on the 7th., was found guilty. Promulgation of sentence was suspended until Storey’s case is heard. RECORD PRICE FOR BULL. (Received this day, at 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, January 13. A shorthorn bull from MaeGilliyray’s held was sold for seven thousand pounds. Another from Wallace herd was sold at four thousand six hundred guineas. Both are to be sent to Argentine.
HUNTING ACCIDENT. (Received this day, at 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, January 13. Lord Lonsdale’s liorso fell while limiting with Cottesmore hounds and Lord Londsdale was thrown heavily, several ribs being broken. FRENCH NAVAL PLANS.
