'The electrons will be held certainly before tlio en of March. The issues are mixed. Besides the alleged disruption amongst Nationalists there is a considerable dissension in the ranks of Labour whose central executive appears not to be closely in touch with the rank an file The farmers party intends making a strong bid. The independents also are not wanting.

The Commission took further evid ence indicating that sly grog selling wa s rampant and much bad liquor was consumed. In regard to one consignment of bulk whisky the supervisor of hotels was asked if two or three men did not die in one day at the time of its arrival and if bad whisky had something to do with their deaths. He said it was alleged Witness also stated he ordered bottled whisky but Di Gil ruth notified him that lie must not do so without consulting him, till the bulk consignment was finished.
