REGULATIONS IT) RE STRICTLY ENFORCED. AUCKLAND, Jfuu 12. Information lias been received in Auckland that the Prime Minister, as Minister in charge of the petrol regulations gazetted in July, JL9IB, has directed that these regulations, which wjere temporarily suspended, are now to be strictly enfold. During the present shortage the whole of the benzine imported must be distributed in accordance with the regulations in regard hot' l to quantity and price, and in every case preference jmifst be given to essential industries. The enforcement of the regulations also •neans that all dealers in benzine, whether as importers or distributors, must bo holders of licenses. No importer ot benzine according to the regulations, nuiv allow a distributor to take more than four wbeks’ supply at one time, and no distributor is permitted to sell more than four weeks’ supply at any one time to a customer.
