meeting OF COUNCIL. CHRISTCHURCH, January 12. At ». meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Cricket Association, further consideration of the proposal to institute a North and South Island match wa s held over till the next quarterly meeting. Challenges for the Hoathcoto Williams Shield were received and accepted from the Christchurch and the Napier Boys High Schools. In. connection with the visits from Australian teams, it was decided to forward a letter to the Board of Control suggesting that Australia send to New Zealand teams every two years, and that New Zealand send a team to Australia overy six years. Tho letter stressed the importance such visits had on tho standard of play in tho Dominion and tho pleasure tho puhlio derived from them.
