The German National Treasurer, Herr Erzberger, has made a striking speech at Stuttgart regarding Russia. He Germany declines tq qarticir,a|e in the warlike measures being prosecuted against Russia and believes Poland, even with French help cannot so(ve the Russian problem. Even British money is ineffective tp do thatGermany has successfully stood sentr.y for two years for European culture against Russia. She has done so without support, or thanks, from the rest. Now, if the door westward is closed to us, then over populated Germany must obtain freedom of movement eastwards. English comment is that the speech indicates an idea is now spreading in Germany that Russia can be built up, with German assistance, and this to their future mutual advantage.
