Odessa population is panic stricken. The capture of Dvinsk brings about the contact of forces engaged in the Polish, Lettish and Esthonian operations.. BOLSHEVIK NEWS. - LONDON, Jan. 7. A Bolshevik wireless report says the Polish Army recently began an offenive against them with a view to relieving their pressure on Deniken in the South, which continues. The message adds that the Bolsheviks abandoned Dvinsk to the Poles in the meanwhile.
The offensive against Deniken continues to make progress. The Bolsheviks now claim to have ! captured the city of Mnriopol in South Russia. They also report that some of the enemy have boarded steamers, while others have fled along the coast of the Sea of Azov. STOCKHOLM, Jan. 7. An Esthonian paper announces that the British representative in tbe Baltic countries, Colonel Tollaut, has started for . London to transmit a new peace offer from Lenin, containing (the paper says') a promise to “abolish terrorism.” A Bolshevik message reports that Trotsky has just issued a manifesto to the Cossacks to give up opposition. He calls the Cossacks attention to the plight of both Deniken and’ Koltchak. Trotsky offers to overlook the past if the Cossacks now side with the Soviets. He suggests their holding of a Cossack) Congress to discuss the matter.
LATEST RUSSIAN NEWS. LONDON, Jan. 7. The latest news is that the Bolsheviks have now reached the sea. They have come to the Sea of Azov. Thus they liaye divided Deniken’s armies in two. Tlie Bolsheviks have now commenced a definite advance on Odessa, over a broad front. The Odessa population is reported to be panic stricken, A Bolsbetik message shows that Trotsky was not murdered as reported.
