The election of a member of the Westland County Council for the Kokatahi riding will take place on Monday next. Burt Ltd., of Dunedin died on Friday. He was one of the most respected citizens of Dunedin. He was horn on April 4th, 1840, at CanVelon, Stirlingshire. Ho cam eto Otago in 1861, when the Gabriel’s Gully rush broke out, and commenced business in Dunedin a year later. In 1877 tho firm created extensive works, which have since been a hive of industry and the headquarters of one of the largest metal businesses in Australasia,
