FOOTBALL CONFERENCE. MELBOURNE, Jan. 2. The Conference of the Australasian Football Council has, since the war, decided to change its name to the Australian Council, as New Zealand has withdrawn. Tt has been resolved to alter the rules, enabling the boundary umpires to throw the ball in at their discretion not less than ten yards and not more than twenty-five yards. The Council negatived a proposal allowing a player to take the place of one injured on the field, on the ground that it might open the way for abuses. ~ WOLFE’S SCHNAPPS is the purest spirit in the world.
