PICTON REGATTA. BLENHEIM, Jan. 1. There was ideal weather - for Picton regatta, with calm water and no wind to speak of. It proved a “day out” for Wairau, who scored four firsts and? one second. Results: — Maiden Fours Wellington 1, Blenheim 2, Picton 3. The winners went to the front and were never headed. Time 7.4. Senior Fours.—Wairau 1, Picton 2, Blenheim 3. A splendid race; won by half a length. Time 12.42. Junior Pairs.—Wairau 1, Blenheim 2, Picton 3. Won all the way by six lengths. Maiden Pairs. Wairau 1, Blenheim 2, Picton 3. Won by four lengths. Timo 7.27Youth’s Fours.—Blenheim I, Picton 2, AYiellington 3, Wairau 4. The best race of the day; won by seven inches. Senior Pairs.—Picton 1, Wairau 2. Won anyhow. Junior Fours.—Wairau 1, Wellington 2, Blenheim 3, Picton 4. Won fairly easily.
